Compliance basics for iGaming streamer campaigns

A starting checklist for brands and creators. It is general information, not legal advice — rules vary by market and change often.

18+ only

Gambling promotion must be aimed at adults. Creators should address an 18+ audience (some markets set higher age limits), use age-gating where the platform supports it, and avoid content or styles designed to appeal to minors.

Responsible gambling messaging

  • Show responsible gambling messages and, where required, local helpline information.
  • Do not present gambling as a way to earn money or solve financial problems.
  • Do not encourage chasing losses or playing beyond one's means.
  • Be transparent: make clear when content is sponsored or contains affiliate links.

Licensing is per market

An operator's licence covers specific markets and products. Promotion aimed at a market should only point to operators licensed for that market and product. Because live streams are watched internationally, check where the audience actually is — not just where the creator lives. See our market pages for Portugal, Germany, Hungary, Serbia and Poland.

Advertising rules on top of licensing

Many markets add restrictions on format, timing, content or the use of bonuses in advertising. These can apply to streams and clips as well as traditional ads.

Platform policies

Kick, Twitch and YouTube each set their own rules on gambling content, links and sponsorship disclosure. A format permitted by the regulator can still be prohibited by the platform.

Documentation

Keep a written brief per campaign: markets, products, required disclaimers and what the creator may and may not say or link to.
