iGaming streamer marketing in Germany.
What licensed brands and creators should check before running streamer or influencer campaigns aimed at Germany.
How the market is regulated
Germany regulates online gambling under the Interstate Treaty on Gambling 2021 (GlüStV 2021). The federal-state authority GGL (Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder) oversees licensing and enforcement and publishes an official whitelist of licensed operators. Advertising is allowed only for licensed operators and is subject to specific restrictions, including time-of-day limits for some formats and products such as virtual slot machines and online poker.
What this means for streamer campaigns
- Check the operator and the specific product are on the GGL whitelist before any promotion.
- Some online casino products are not licensable in Germany; streams aimed at German viewers must not promote them.
- Check how time-of-day and content restrictions apply to live streams and clips before scheduling.
- German-language content and creators are key; plan German streams separately from international ones.
How Vantage helps
We treat Germany as its own brief: creator selection, formats and scheduling are agreed with the brand's compliance team before anything goes live.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Gambling and advertising rules change and differ by market and platform. Always confirm the current position with the regulator and qualified local counsel before a campaign goes live.
